Delete Account
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Every organization where you’re the only member, with all its apps
- Those apps’ releases, patches, and artifacts
- Your API keys and sessions
Apps already installed on devices keep working, but stop receiving patches.
In organizations that have other members, your membership is removed, but the organizations themselves aren’t affected, unless you own them (see below).
What blocks deletion
Section titled “What blocks deletion”Two things stop you from deleting your account until you deal with them:
- An organization you own that has other members. Deleting your account would leave its members without an owner, so transfer it or delete it first. To transfer ownership, open the organization’s settings in the Shorebird console and assign a new owner. Organizations where you’re the only member don’t block deletion; they’re deleted with your account.
- A paid plan that still renews, or whose payment is past due. Cancel a plan that still renews; see Cancel your plan. Pay a past-due payment first, from the Plan page; canceling doesn’t clear it. A plan you’ve already canceled, with its payments up to date, doesn’t block deletion: it ends when your account is deleted.
The console tells you which of these applies when you try to delete your account.
If you’re leaving a company, see Account access and ownership for the order to hand things over in.
Deleting your account
Section titled “Deleting your account”- Navigate to the Account page in the Shorebird console.
- In the Danger zone, select Delete account.
- Type your email address to confirm, and select Permanently delete account.
Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted.
From the command line,
shorebird account delete opens the Account
page; it doesn’t delete the account itself.
Deleting individual apps, releases, and patches is also permanent. See Delete Apps, Releases, and Patches.
