## What is Shorebird?

Shorebird lets you push code updates to your Flutter app instantly, without waiting for app store review. These docs are for Flutter developers integrating Shorebird into new or existing Flutter apps. These docs cover everything from your first integration to your custom deployment workflows.

## Before you begin

You need a computer that can already build your app for the platform you target, `git` 2.25.1 or newer, and about 3 GB of free disk space. Shorebird installs its own copy of Flutter. The Quick Start’s [Prerequisites](/getting-started/#prerequisites) list the tools for each platform.
